Spiritual Resolution
Thursday, October 20, 2005, 6 to 8 p.m.
Fo Guang Hsiang Yun Temple
6720 N. Capital of Texas Highway, Austin
How do we learn to deal
with parting, mourning and remembering the lives lost suddenly
to tragedies such as Hurricane Katrina and Rita and the recent
earthquake in South Asia? As human beings, we all come into this
world the same way but we shall part with it quite differently,
having been shaped by our acquired faiths and life experiences.
On October 20 this month, spiritual teachers from the Bahai,
Buddhist, Catholic, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Native American
and Muslim faiths will share their insight and teachings on
tragic death with the community. A movement dance depicting the
recent events by our local artist, Ms. Toshiko will provide us
the visual image of tragedy and remembrance. A moment of
fellowship and refreshments will follow immediately after this
memorial event. Admission is FREE.
The event is organized
by Asian American Cultural Center and International Buddhist
Progress Society IBPS, Austin. Please RSVP by email to
ibps-austin@sbcglobal.net or call 346-6789 so that we know
how much refreshment to prepare.
