The Asian American Cultural Center at 11713 Jollyville Road
(north of Duval Road) will be celebrating its 5th
anniversary as well as the Harvest Moon Festival on Saturday,
September 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
While we share our happiness on this special occasion, we
want to take the opportunity to help our brothers and sisters who
are victims of hurricane Katrina by holding a garage sale.
Please donate your treasures to the Center for the
fundraising garage sale. All
proceed will be donated to the Red Cross, Hurricane Relief Fund.
In celebration of the
5th anniversary of the Asian American Cultural Center,
there will be the exciting Asian cultural performances of Lion
Dance, ethnic dances from different nationalities, music of the
Indian tabla, the Japanese Taiko Drums, various martial arts
demonstrations, as well as the moonwalk and children activities
for the entire family. There
will also be resource booths and Asian foods in the tradition of
the Asian American Cultural Center as a bridge between the East
and the West, to celebrate the fullest of the Harvest Moon, which
is a symbol of unity and completeness.
